Players like that are the musical equiviliant of Bach, Mozart,Beethoven, Chopin, Tchaikovsky,Haydan one of a kind.

Been following the games of Wesley. In the last 27 games, he has not lost a single game from the Reykjavic Open. Susan Polgar is doing a great job mentoring him. If he plays with Magnus now, I think he'd best get a draw. But give him time, say 4 years, he'll reach his peak. He can beat Magnus.
id love to see a match between Wes and Magnus.
It's hard to say how far So will go, but he is 20 years old and has a bit left before he is top 30. Carlsen was #21 before he turned 16, and had been #1 for a year when he turned 20. So could well be a future top ten player, but he will still need to improve a lot to get there.
Carlsen would slay him.

Wesley So is a Filipino Super GM who became a GM at 14, very strong, but I'm not so sure as to whether he is a top contender or could consistently defeat Carlsen

No one is better than Carlsen. He's 80 elo points above anyone else in the world for a reason. When Carlsen was So's age, he was already rated around 2780. There are many players better than So right now, including Carlsen, but So obviously has a very bright future ahead of him. When he gets to Carlsen's age, I imagine he'll be a top 10 player.
common now...what a question.. how could someone who is ranked 32 in the world be better than the no 1 player ??? I'd feel embarrassed to propose that question.

Read Botvinnik remark again about Fischer. No one will think highly of him. At least for this moment. And you know, ppl are on Carleson euphoria. This euphoria can last weeks, months, but I don't think it will last 1 year, once ppl realize there is new and better talents out there.
