Isolated Rook Pawn vs Isolate Knight Pawn

I realize, of course that the rest of the position makes a world of difference, but can anyone comment, in a general way, on the relative weakness of an isolated Knight Pawn vs an Isolated Rook Pawn?

Rook pawn advantages are drawing a lot more often. Normally due to stalemate because the opponents king can't be forced to the other side.

An isolated knight pawn can be more easily blockaded by a knight than a rook pawn can; however, an isolated knight pawn on the 7th is weaker against a queen than a rook pawn on the 7th provided the defending king is nearby and the attacking king is out of range. In a rook ending, having an isolated knight pawn has better winning chances than a rook pawn.

In the middle game, an isolated rook pawn makes a better pawn ram against a fianchettoed position than an isolated knight pawn.

Thanks, those are the kind of thoughts I was interested in hearing.

jdcannon - the 2nd diagram is drawn, whoever has the move.

The second to last diagram is a win for White if he has the move:
