It's not good etiquette to demand an opponent to rush their turns in a 30-minute game, right?

Disclaimer: not really bothered by my recent opponent's attitude - just confused.

In my most recent game, my opponent kept demanding in chat to "hurry up" my turns. This was not exactly what they were messaging. But the way their messages implied - angry emojis,  spamming "hurry" in Spanish, etc. - my opponent was basically telling me to make moves faster.

It's a 30-minute game, my guy. And for me to succeed and improve, I need at least two minutes to think. I don't care that you're able to pre-move your pieces or that you take less than ten seconds to find your move. Just wait your turn. Or... play Blitz or Bullet instead. Why are you here for faster gameplay?

Again, just a little confused. My recent opponent matched for a long game. Why play like it's Bullet?

StumpyBlitzer

Of course your fine to use the time, if your opponent is in a rush they should play faster time controls.

Don’t let it phase you, all players have their own strategy and utilizing chat to their advantage might be one such strat

Well, I just say "ur move" and go to complete silence after that. Some players stall tho.

You can’t win. Take your time and they complain, then win quickly and they are salty about it.

Aspin_001

But @Chuck639's and your opponents' attitudes is disgusting.

It’s fine.

There are a few bitter apples out there just as there are good ones.

Of course. 1200 title one year. 1500 the following year. 1800 is too lofty so I’ll quit while I’m ahead lol

Aspin_001

Out of the topic, but some ppl actually turn salty once they are losing.

Chuck639

Take your time and do you.

Funny story, I started a survival rush to warm up and got the 1st puzzle wrong which was 200 rare lol. I text to my brother I should with draw from the tournament.

Then I go to win the 1500 tournament as a 1300 underdog.

Just do you.

I guess u started too low in the ratings. I can even go on par with a 1500 (even tho he has more wins than I am). ( f l e x )

Aspin_001

I cant seem to upload my photo. Basically I have 7 wins, 10 losses, and 6 draws.

Greats job!

I can believe that. I’m horrid. I started at 800. I don’t even know how to coordinate a knight. Don’t ask me to recite opening principles because I didn’t learn them hence don’t follow them, but I do analyze my games and try to learn  from them.

I also have my good and bad days too. Somebody has to win and lose.

Keep playing and have fun.

I agree with Circumlocutions - don't let it faze you. happy.png If he didn't say Vamos, you probably weren't playing Rafa.
