True.
It's not good etiquette to demand an opponent to rush their turns in a 30-minute game, right?

If they want you to move fast, they should be playing a different time control. Q.E.D.
As long as you're not stalling to be a troll or a sore loser, then just ignore someone like that. Go into Focus mode or mute them.

In casual OTB chess, there are players who talk about moving faster. Just ignore him. If he speaks rude, report him.

I've had this happen to me in a 45+45 but only here on Chess.com. By starting out funneling all players toward speed chess, CC gives new players the impression that this is how Chess is played - at lightning speed. So, when they enter a real game with some time on the clock and an increment, they think someone taking 3 minutes for a move is just an ungodly amount of time. In the end, you do you as others have said and use your time wisely. The idiots who zerg out all of their moves regardless of how much time they have left obviously plateau at a certain point and never improve further.
Idk why dafuq are they mad. They can even think of a move while the opponent is thinking.

Oh my. Automod on the forum. I wrote a long post but I got a red warning. Never the less. Short reply this time, you are free to use your time. One play slower so one can think more. Ignore the chat. Chat in game is not often nice.

It’s also horrible strategy on their part (unless they’re intentionally trying to tilt someone). If they can get a guaranteed win by waiting for you to run your time out on moves that don’t warrant it, then they should be excited to get that win. On a few occasions, I’ve played opponents who were slower than me, but I was happy, because their time trouble gave me an advantage.

Disclaimer: not really bothered by my recent opponent's attitude - just confused.
In my most recent game, my opponent kept demanding in chat to "hurry up" my turns. This was not exactly what they were messaging. But the way their messages implied - angry emojis, spamming "hurry" in Spanish, etc. - my opponent was basically telling me to make moves faster.
It's a 30-minute game, my guy. And for me to succeed and improve, I need at least two minutes to think. I don't care that you're able to pre-move your pieces or that you take less than ten seconds to find your move. Just wait your turn. Or... play Blitz or Bullet instead. Why are you here for faster gameplay?
Again, just a little confused. My recent opponent matched for a long game. Why play like it's Bullet?
Did they say vamos vamos?

If someone is a knob in anyway, I reply with 'It's gonna take even longer now.' 'I'm slow at typing too, but if you really want to talk...' 'You don't have anything better to do.' 'I suppose you ought to resign now if you really want to save time.' Or just say 'bye,' and turn chat off. It's rude to talk nonsense at an opponent, or try to rush them. Depending on my mood, you'll get one of the above responses if you are annoying.

so according to you, chat boxes are an online chess anomaly that we should rightly only use to offer a draw, type 'j'adoube' in or explain to our opponent why we are summoning an arbiter about a dispute, on pain of forfeit? 🤔

It must've been rough. I have nightmares about having a long post deleted.
You can disable chat in situations like that. If you aren't stalling and are earnestly thinking hard, then your opponents have no right to distract you like that.
