Hehe, gotta love Ivanchuk.
Ivanchuk is back!

It's funny just how annoyed the best chess players can get when they lose. Kasparov was probably even worse because of how little he lost, but I remember he like made a speech about how winning he was against Radjabov which he lost.

Kasparov's most embarrassing moment was after losing to Deeper Blue... not so much the losing itself, but the petty tantrum against the IBM team, accusing them of cheating and not adhering to the standards of the match. Not the best reflection on the chessplaying community, from one of the more typically polished public figures.

Kasparov had a strong point though.. if i remember correctly.

I would look at it the same way if he had been granted the same courtesy he'd allowed the deep blue team in being granted a rematch and if deep blue hadn't been shut down, which, you have to admit, is suspicious behaviour.

This is vintage Ivanchuk. One story has it that, some years ago, he was found banging his head against a wall after a loss.
He's a very temperamental man and somewhat eccentric (well, maybe more than somewhat). He kinda reminds me of someone I see in the mirror often - only he can play chess.
After losing to So, he announced his retirement in chess, but today he said he is coming back and apoligises to his supporters, friends and colleagues.
Welcome back Chucky :)
Feel free to rant or cheer.
Here is what Ivanchuk said, you can find it at..

"I ask the forgiveness of my supporters, friends, colleagues in arms, and numerous chess lovers, for the emotional interview. I was very upset after losing, but am not in any circumstances planning to give up chess! And I wish to contradict the reports on SMI regarding my departure from the game.... Yours with respect, Vassily Ivanchuk" (Edited some words, corrected the spelling)
