Capablanca invented the Chancellor. I've invented a new chess peice too! It's called the Excalibur!

Sort:
WorldWarThreeIsImminent

Imagine a whole new chess peice that is only activated under special circumstances.

A sleeping peice. Call it the Excalibur.

This chesspeice only moves when certain prerequisites have been attained, of positional or material nature.

What prerequisites of the above sort might make the Excalibur a viable chess peice?

Possibly something like

Every time three queens are attained the Excalibur automatically activates.

Also, what kind of peice would the Excalibur be?

It would move in a V shape, like a sword tip, i.e four squares diagonally one way and four squares diagonally the other way.

Ain't that a cool idea now

P.S: the name Excalibur I derive from the story of Arthur king of Camelot, and how the sword Excalibur only got pulled out of the rock when the right person pulled it.

I suggest you join the bulldog chess group!! They are a whole group that is dedicated to doing this with custom pieces and they host a lot of games with it. I myself isnt that active but you can ask them about it.

Wouldn't that leave it sitting on the table beside the chess-board?

Unless this is played on a 10 x 10 chessboard...
