You were able to use your fingers on previous Wacom tablets, which would have been good.
I've just started using a Wacom Intuous tablet for chess.

Initial impressions are good. Using it on a MacBook Pro 2015, so the trackpad is tiny.
I don't have to click the pen buttons to grab the pieces and it supports touching the two squares and dragging the piece too.
I'm having problems with both hands so trying to find most comfortable way to play.
