I’ve noticed a lot of people with super high puzzle scores, but relatively low chest playing

Are puzzles really as helpful as some make them out to be?

"Chess RATING" obviously, not "Chest playing" 🤣

2400 vs1000 here. Puzzles are a definite help. After getting a much higher puzzle score I feel that I spotted more when playing a game than when it was lower. While definitely helpful, no I don't believe it made a huge difference personally.

Doing tactics definitely helps with improvement. And no disrespect toward this site, but I do my tactics with books and use another site for tactics because they allow you to play through the entire game. That way you get to see how the tactic developed. I do tactics here but just for fun.

As for how high you can get you puzzle rating? Its nothing but an ego feed.

No. Posting high puzzle scores is just ego driven, hey look at me I can do puzzles. Has no bearing on chess ability,

Because chess.com has inflated puzzle rating so badly, that meanwhile my rapid rating is 1600, I have reached 3200 puzzle rating.
