The etymology for the word dildo is unclear. The Oxford English Dictionary describes the word as being of "obscure origin". A dildo in old sailing terms, referred to a peg used to lock an oar in position on a dory (small boat). The word may also refer to the town of Dildo or the nearby Dildo Island in Newfoundland, Canada.
Possibly Hessian is an old (or middle aged) sailor or lives in Dildo or on Dildo Island.
