Just friendly advice for some of you who play OTB

Gawwd...someone else with a Ph.d in the bleeding obvious.
It's not that obvious because of how common it is to encounter players who don't know how to shake hands. Maybe if you play players who are from Europe you won't encounter this. Here in United States it's a problem.

You're one of those guys who crushes people's flanges in an effort to contradict all of the rumors circulating about him. This princess has had to visit the ER after meeting people like you.
Honestly I don't crush people's hands. lol

i used to regularly visit this old bloke in a retirement home , he was a mean chess player , i learned loads from him ,
he had a barely touch your fingers handshake , i didnt mind ,

I think there is a wide range of grip strengths between people. Sometimes a limp handshake is just a sign that one's own grip is relatively stronger than the other persons. Too firm a handshake can be painful for people with arthritis.

That sounds like the problem, right there.
This is a public service announcement to the WORLD. Please do things my way. I can't handle things that are different. In fact, if you do things differently you're probably a queer. Just kidding, but honestly princess...

My impersonation of the OP

Honestly i couldn't care less how someone shakes my hand nor do i care if they do it at all. I am only concerned with how strong their chess is.
that is okay if you have similar hand size, but what if you have a smaller hand than your opponent? your hand will be engulfed and you will have no leverage to squeeze

What if I have sweaty hands? I'm not applying for a job from you, I'm not obligated to shake your germy hand, and I really don't want to want to. So don't even stick your paw out at me. Just signing the score sheet to certify that you lost is enough.

This is about the least important part of tournament chess, although I can sorta agree
