Just played a racist guy. Rant.

I'm from India, it's late night here, and I was bored, unable to sleep. So I was just chilling and playing some chess, and I thought of trying the bongcloud opening just for fun. My opponent clearly took offense to that and went off on a rant in the game chat about how Indians are street poopers and how they smell like curry. That was completely unexpected for me and I haven't experienced this before here in my short span of downloading this app. He was from the US, so I told him that at least we don't have a senile for a president. He didn't like me giving back his own medicine, so he went off saying that at least the US isn't a slave nation like India and that the US rules the world. He won that game, else I'm sure he would have continued with his verbal diarrhea had he lost from a bongcloud opening. Chess.com, please do something about these fringe elements of society. They hide behind the safety of internet anonymity like cowards, else they would've got punched in the face.

I love the irony of British people who keep reminiscing about the good old days of the British Empire and are blissfully blind and ignorant to the suffering they caused around the world. Karma gets you, and it will catch up some day. Already is, with immigrants taking jobs and then brits whining about it.

That's a logical fallacy. I've had wonderful conversations with good people here while playing games. Just because I leave the chat on doesn't mean I am to blame for literal racism. I hate it when people try to take the focus away from the real issue, toxicity and bigotry online, which is seeping into this site too unfortunately. I can turn the chat off, that won't stop him from abusing someone else. The problem is about bigotry, and turning the chat off doesn't solve it. But I guess there's no solving it since the internet is basically a safe hiding place for racists filled with hatred to vent their frustration of a failed life. Anyway, as I said, it's just a rant.

You were the one who poked your nose in this post with your misplaced nationalism. It is one thing to love your country, that is beautiful, and it is another thing to outright take pride in the fact that you committed atrocities in lesser privileged parts of the world and even looted their wealth. You were the one with the first comment in this thread, trying to take a jab at me. Also, remember everytime that you get conned by someone from our continent that they are the same people who got conned by the British a few hundred years back. This is simply karma. I'm not defending them, just saying that what goes around, comes around. There will be consequences of racism and colonization, whether you like it or not, and it's already happening. There are shitty people everywhere, from your country as well as mine. But to simply stereotype all of our countrymen as scammers is simply racist, just like stereotyping all of your country men as being colony sympathisers is racist. The two aren't comparable. I called one guy senile, whereas he called an entire population as street poopers. It isn't giving back 'evil', it is simply not tolerating bullshit. What I said was not evil nor was it bigoted, it was just a harmless jab back at him, since these bigots get away with their hatred without being caught. And it's naive of you to think that 'simply reporting and moving on' is going to change anything. I have reported him, but chess.com hardly ever takes any action. Stop telling victims of racism to 'just move on', you don't know how it feels.

And it is interesting that out of everything I wrote, you chose to cherry pick what I said instead of focusing on his unwarranted hate. I didn't give any hate back, I simply showed him that he can't get away with it without facing consequences. If I had said that 'americans are obese' , or that 'americans are dumb', then THAT is hate. Simply pointing out that your president is senile is not hate in the least.
