In 1990 they played 150 minutes for the first 40 moves and then 1 hour for every 16 moves.
Kasparov Karpov, time controls

I'm interested in that topic too! Thanks for opening it!
@Sred, was it connected? I mean, in one day?
@MSC157: No, they had adjourned games, playing time was 6 hours per day. Game 16, for example, was adjourned twice and ended after 102 moves.
Forgot to mention: if one of the players had reached 12.5 points before game 24, the remaining games would have been abandoned.
I don't know about the rules in 1984-87.
Hello! Does anyone know, what was time control in these games (1984, '85, '86, '87, '90), with all adjournments and so on.
And how many games they were required to play? I mean, if someone reached 12,5 in game 20, was it reqired to play remaining 4 games?
Thanks for answers!
