His first elo rating---when did he receive it and what was it?  Everything else is unnecessary.

He talks about finally being given his elo by the Soviet authorities in his autobio. I'm not sure if they just withheld his reports till then or if some other mechanism was in effect.

Offhand I don't recall an internal rating being discussed. Maybe they were just assigned categories then?

In July 1979, FIDE 2545. At that time it was top-40 level.
