King&Knight against Lone King

King&Knight against Lone King is a Draw, but suppose the player with the Lone King does not know that it is a Draw and decides to Resign from the game. Does the other player win or does it have to be a Draw in a tournament game?

I guess it would be a win if the player who resigned resigned right away, but otherwise my guess is that it would be a draw.
