Knights can move back!

I don’t understand why people never realise that knights can move back I play around 600to 800 and it’s so rare that players will move the night back instead they choose very bad options and lose pieces WHY!!

I honestly don’t know, I do now that in Shogi (Japanese chess) the “knight” can’t move backwards
