what the heck are you trying to say?

Phelon

what part of life isn't a competition though?

porkscrew

It's quite simple, really. The word "strategy" comes from the Latin word "strategeri" literally meaning "to strategerize" or to "use strategery".

I thought this stuff was common knowledge in chess circles. *shrugs*

EnoneBlue

That doesn't make much sense, you can use the word strategy with no competition and vise versa. this is true because strategy is not limited to competing with another person. for example: I can make a strategy for reading a book. I am not competing, but planning a way to acomplish my goal.

taots_11

its a military term and the standard is it use only if their is a war, competion.

taots_11

estevon....strategy in general you can use it in many ways.but if you talking about specifically you cannot use it in the sentence if the topic of your sentence has no competition and this is a word standard okay?

Nope. That's why we have the word strategery.

The meaning of words can change as language evolves or at least cultures change somewhat. Gay for example meant to be happy and joyful now it seems to mean liking the same sex as u. Many other examples can be given, take what i been learning on ancient Hebrew vs modern Hebrew. Some words are no longer used or the context of the word doesn't have quite the same meaning. I believe this is the same with the concept of what strategy means too....Cool

fischeryouth

little is totally right :)

taots_11

thank you littleman but if you look to the encyclopedia .com,you will see that some people copy this word because they are desperate to use this.this what the explanation of the encyclopedia .com.

BadBishop51
