They work, but as the guy said in one of the videos, they usually take hours for each question in real investigations, so a few seconds isn’t really enough
A polygraph wouldn't have proved anything in Elista back in 2006.

I guess someone didn't get the memo that polygraphs are highly unreliable.
A polygraph could scare somebody into telling the truth though.
Especially if the questions are unexpected.
Or it could indicate a false positive.

we don't need to relitigate the pseudo-science of polygraphs here, there is plenty of research at the tip of your finger.
torture doesn't work either, before anyone gets any ideas.

Not my point. Yes it could.
But the point is when information is provided - that can lead to other information or evidence.
Especially when details are provided.
Unknown details that can then be verified.
Example.
Did you ... ?
Where?
Location follows.
Location is checked out.
Point: the 'hidden mission' of polygraph tests ...
not to see if somebody's lying or not. Its to get information.
