Do you think USA has many american GMs? Nakamura is japanese, Kamsky is russian, Akobian is armenian, Seirawan is syrian etc

Seems to be a lack of GM's and Masters in Canada. The highest rated is Hansen, and he is originally American, not Canadian.
Does Canada usually lack in the arts?
