Lack of chess rots the brain.

After being the target of merciless cyberbullying at the hands of the owner of this website I decided to take a break from chess. As of right now I haven't played a single game of chess in a couple of months, down from being a daily player. I have been spending my free time catching up on the latest films and shows, and going out and socializing more.

Since then both my ability to recall information, and my short term memory have been steadily declining. Also simple problem solving in my daily life has been an issue, to the point where I actually ask my wife for advice about things.

Either playing chess makes you smarter, or I have developed a brain tumor. I'm going to start playing some blitz again and see where it leads.

I haven't played a single game of chess in months.  I haven't played over the board in over a year.

there other influences that are more of a leading cause to memory loss. I should know. :)
