Lack of demotion is a major problem with leagues

I am concerned about the implementation of leagues.

If you can't get demoted, eventually, everyone will be in the top league. No demotion makes sense for the first few months to allow a supply of people in each level throughout the pyramid.  

If I was running the design, i'd say that you could not be demoted for some n cycles after promotion, and otherwise, the same number of people get demoted as promoted.

Also, where is the link to leagues in the web interface?  I can find it on mobile but not web.

There will always be new members on the site. Getting to legend is going to be very, very hard and will take 6 months to a year to get 50 people in legend. The vast majority of members probably won't make it past Elite.

The link to leagues can be found by clicking on the league option on your profile/homepage/mini-profile. I imagine at some point there will be a menu item for it.

I've been playing for a month or two and am about to make it to Champion. It's engagement optimized matchmaking system. Elo is skill based matchmaking system. You get rewarded in EOMM systems by spamming games. Keeps the game going with active users. Many games these days apply EOMM to their systems to keep people focused on them. If it was only skill based, people would get to their ELO/rank and quit. You want to get promoted in Leagues, just spam games more than everyone else in your division. Whoever has the most time or wins more games in a period of time during the League period is promoted. Leagues do not equal skill.
