After the initial league pop-up, all you should see is the league trophies gained on the game end dialog, if you gained any. You'll also see a promotion message at the beginning of the league week if you promote.
If you're seeing something else, try clearing your browser cache. If that doesn't help, reply and let us know the browser and version.
