that explains it. a bit counter productive though. so bullet and alot of blitz are a bit pointless for the league sake. although im not sure im gonna get too hung up on the tournament. seems its just whoever plays the most wins

I can't speak to bullet chess, but I haven't had any games, other than abandonments, impacted by the rule since it was changed.
Do not all wins count? I've had a couple of blitz wins that dont seem to register points for my league
