If you have both, Chessbase is best used for storing your games and analysis of those games. It can also analyze the games for you or in addition to you. It is also useful for playing daily games both in terms of storing your analysis and in the opening phase of the game where its use is legal (but only if setup correctly). It can also be used to build a repertoire for the opening.
Fritz, if you have both, is best used as a sparring partner. I like playing against it because you can play longer games than you will typically find people willing to play online.
I'm not trying to start a fuss or a rude discussion. I understand the ethics and morals of not using programs like Fritz, etc when playing online. I totally agree that should not be done in competition.
However; being recently retired and returning to chess from the dinosaur age (before computers), I would like to learn how to best use ChessBase and Fritz. Yes, they do have help manuals, but I have yet to find good online videos on how to best use these programs.
How would I go about finding players willing to play a few unrated games with me giving me the opportunity to learn these programs and give me advise on using these programs along the way?
Are there any online chess teachers who offer this service?
Thank You
