Dear chess community,
I have been here for almost a year using my same profile picture as you can see below. Two days ago it was taken down by some chess.com moderator who told me the profile wasn't in accordance with the terms of service (ToS) and asked me to put up a more family friendly picture. When I wanted to know why exactly it was taken down cause there are a lot of similar pictures on chess.com I was just told it is against the ToS in general. When I insisted I was told it was "otherwise objectionable".
After I have tried to seek help from the chess.com staff another moderator just came up with the same explanation saying my picture is against the ToS in general but never explained what exactly is wrong. Instead this moderator started to check my personal massages and chats to find another reason to ban my account. It's obvious he doesn't found anything grivious, cause I am still here. Then finally, when I started to complain about the way I was treated in public the chess.com team accused me of harassing their moderators and announced to close my account if I do not keep silent.
So I will leave this site now. For I feel being harassed by those who should have protected me from being harassed. Especially since the first moderator claims to be an active member of Christian and Jewish communities I feel this moderator is just pushing his agenda of moral hygine and tries to enforce a chaste dress code on women that is much more than the ToS. And chess.com staff is protecting their moderators by thratening me and snooping around my account rather than admitting a mistake. Thus replacing reliable ToS with the moral standards of a misogynic puffed up moderator. Good bye.
