Basketball players don't know how to play chess, just hoops..
There was a story in Chess Life a number of years ago about celebrities and athletes who play chess. Bill Walton was Class B strength, and I think he was the strongest of the living atletes/celebs they discussed.
Howard Stern is a devoted online chess player and talks about it all the time on his show....

b. He plays Basketball

I don't know how he's rated these days but the linked one is 1727 standard. Not bad, especially considering he started very late in life. On the other hand, he has the benefit of a very good teacher. One of the perks of wealth no doubt.

Yeah, I don't like that sort of crusty texture too much--pancakes are nice and smooth. Still, the Belgian waffles at the 1963/64 New York world's fair were said to be somethin' else.
