Leela Zero( A Neural Network engine similar to Alpha Zero)

Sort:
drmrboss

Yes, self learning engine! Same as Alpha 0. Simulation of alpha zero in smaller hardware!

If you run client only, it will download the latest network, and you will be asked about username and password(for the first time), then you will be  will be contributing in the network  like that, pic 1nullnull.(Thank you for your contribution) .

When you would like to review your games go , http://lczero.org/, in main page, you will see your name like that, in pic 2, and you can review games via chesstempo gui.

drmrboss

Probably incomplete files, you may need to download again. Show me screenshot of your set up files.

drmrboss

Your engine wont work with client.exe alone. client will be connecting to Leela training/testing network. Download these old file and review my earlier posts, from #4 . http://www.mediafire.com/file/ilm2ixxpl9ednez/LCZero+Gen+13.7z

If you want to play Leela in Arena, you need to set up (leela.exe or play.bat) in arena.

Try from dropbox. https://www.dropbox.com/s/0wjiz5sdtokg7x0/LCZero%20Gen%2013.7z?dl=0

Just fooling around :-)

Is this chess engine or cryptominer? grin.png Why would mediafire delete it ?

drmrboss

Yes, there is risk of getting virus from mediafire.  I just shared the files from one of the original programmer who organized all working files in one package for the convenience of people. If you dont trust me, dont download them.

Otherwise,  you can install by your own, from this main page.

https://github.com/glinscott/leela-chess/wiki

Or you can ask the programmers in this group.

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/lczero

(It is technically complicated and even some chess programmers dont understand how it works/how to get working files)

Godeka

How many active supporting clients does the project have?

Leela Zero became very strong, so I hope Leela Chess Zero can reach a similar result. Nice to see that there is some communication between Go and chess projects.

Godeka

Nice, the project has a domain now. And about 110 supporting clients.

Of course, there are personalized parameters. First you need to install her in your Arena GUI.

Hey. I've tried to install the engine in Arena several times, with no luck. I've used all the tips you've mentioned - Nothing works. Does my computer require an actual GPU? I think the only thing resembling a GPU is built into my CPU chip, which may not count.

I can open the engine in console mode, and I can run the tuning portion: When I try to run it in Arena, it immediately crashes.

@Escherehcse , I think a dedicated graphgic card is required ,AMD or NVIDIA.@Krampolis. I am unable to answer such technical questions. You both should ask directly to original programmers.I posted their link in recent post #30.

Thanks. I suspect that's the case. I guess I'll just watch from the sideline. :)

Yes, graphic card problem is a real issue for Leela project. They have a version of Leela that can run on CPU only ,but it will be inefficient, only 20-30% of your CPU power might be effective. It is the main issue in barring stockfish volunteers to be involved in leela project.

drmrboss

They released new version of Leela version 4 officially in complete package(except network). You can choose depending on whatever OS you have ,Linux, Mac,   Window GPU or CPU,

https://github.com/glinscott/leela-chess/releases/tag/v0.4

After downloading Leela, download the latest network

http://lczero.org/networks

After that set up in Arena, Engine--->Install new engine-->choose Leela--> Engine type is UCi. And then configure engine management as shown in picture. In command-line parameter add "-w(the name of networkfile you downloaded,in my case (-w218a****)null

drmrboss

Network and engine must be in same folder.null

Yesterday Leela had 200+ volunteers while stockfish testing framework has 48 active users. nullnull

It looks like its performance may be plateauing. This may be the limit of the chosen architecture / learning regime.
