It's an advanced tactics book through the analysis of games written for strong players rated around 2150-2360, This book can take at least 2 1/2 years for the player he intended it for to work through slowly and is not an easy read.
I think you'll find the book too hard and end up putting it on the shelf where it'll gather dust someone at your rating level is better off studying a book like The Basis of Combination in Chess by Julius Dumont:
And a book like Learn Chess Tactics by John Nunn.....
I got this book a little less than a year ago, went thru the first game, and determined I was better off going thru "Chess Lessons" by Popov first, and reading "The Grandmaster Battle Manual" now, and will read the book mentioned in this post sometime after that, and I speak as someone that was about 2030 in the middle of last year, so if you aren't at least an expert, and I would say a high expert (I intend to read this when I'm maybe 2150), you'll be lost! Trust me!
i am still enjoying the book since i like tactics. also, because of the first chapter i am thinking of converting to the benoni defense from the king's indian.
I just procured this book and it would be great if someone who has had a look at it can review it and suggest the best way to go about it.
