Even on level 1 I cannot beat the computer, I've replayed everything, I cannot think 30 moves ahead of the program! Anyone else?

What does this mean?

I just beat level 1, however on the next game (level 1). It's like playing on level ten!

ChessOath, what I mean is it seems the computer can think 30 moves ahead for any possible move I make on the board.

I tried it after reading your OP and I'm telling you that you're full of it. It hangs pieces nearly every move. I beat it in under 30 seconds. I just made obvious moves requiring no thought and it hanged everything. It didn't even resemble a chess game.

That computer is not looking 30 moves ahead, I beat it in under 30 moves. It only had a Rook left and I don't think it took a single one of my pieces. It might have taken a single Knight or Bishop, I don't recall exactly.

It has been specifically designed to blunder almost every move. Just don't hang pieces and take the computer's when allowed and you'll win no problem.

I can reproduce the issue, the computer is playing at level 10 instead of 1 regardless of what I choose (new chess.com).

Well, don't post it here, report it to the chess.com folks at their support page. Seriously, I just tried and I don't think I can lose to the thing at Level 1. In fact, I tried level 2 and 3 and won every game. If you think there is a serious problem, report it. Posting here is just trolling since most of us have no problems.

I was simply asking if anyone else has this problem, one other member does. By calling someone an inaccurate label for a problem you may not have is the very thing we all call a "Troll ". Thank you for your help.

I just played the computer, I had it on Chess Coach and let it suggest every move for me, I gave up more material than can be imagined.  It suggest moves to leave pieces hanging, give up higher value pieces to lower value.  It skillfully walked me into mate.

That's not what happened. You just whined about being beaten by the computer. You never suggested that the program wasn't working as intended.

I think the formulae for level 1 is

(all possible legal moves - random moves leaving one)

Used all computer moves again to a stalemate

Level 1 computer found the 'death draw'.

This is an actual problem. When l play the computer on my husband's chess.com app l can easily beat it at level 5, but on my phone's newer app beating the computer at level 1 is impossible for me. The computer simply doesn't make mistakes in the latter case. I guess it's a programming error.
