Lichess vs chess.com

LOL, that seems accurate ![]()
I prefer Chess.com due to Game Rewiew, puzzles and better Stockfish, but Lichess' studies work better
I made this a long time ago and haven’t checked it in a while. I now mostly use Lichess for studies also @galileo159, although I used both a lot when I made this.
I prefer lichess for tactics because it allows you to play through the entire game allowing you to see how the tactic developed.
A lot of it seems like tribalism, 'my team vs your team'. But I have tried both: I started with Lichess and played there for months, then played at both for about a week, and since then exclusively here. And it's just true that most prefer chess.com, by a factor of ten to one, the latest figures. There's a reason for that. And it's not just because chess.com has a better name, as some Lichess supporters like to think. I much prefer the UI, myself, not just for games but also for forums, and things like profile pages. There is much more a sense of community here, also, in my opinion. And the cheat detection system is the best in history... no one else even comes close: around 20 million games analyzed every day, 15 thousand accounts closed.
But I'm still a Lichess member, though I no longer play there. I really like their Interactive Lessons feature.
Chess.com has more players who disconnect or stall. Easier to block people from countries that cheat on Chess.com, so that is good.
You can't block "people from certain countries that cheat", Barney, and never will have that option. Chess.com can't educate you but neither is it going to help you discriminate. Nationalities don't cheat. Individual players do. And no country, including yours, has a monopoly on virtue.

I've blocked over 50 players and chess is much better, less timeouts and less cheating. Chess.com can't do it, but I can.
I prefer both.
