Why would Gresser be in an article about Lisa Lane?

Gresser is mentioned in this series: https://www.chess.com/article/view/american-woman-part-i

Nice historical tidbit, its simple tales like this that can make history more real and moving.

Here's Lisa Lane playing Gisela Gresser in the penultimate game of 1962 US Women's Championship at the Manhattan C.C. . Lisa lost this game and her title.

Bobby fisher Actually Commented on her in a lost video that was found on twitter about how she stopped playing because she got married and that she was never really that good (US Women's Chess Champion).

Excellent post, as ever.  So many of these stories are bittersweet.  Caissa is so often unkind to her court.
