I am sick of suffering from Little Kasparov Syndrome. It's when you see this brilliant, and I mean brilliant sacrifice and despite that little voice whispering in your ear, "You are not a little Kasparov," you go ahead with the plan after some 10 minutes of thought. Like the classic bishop sacrifice where you get to "drag the enemy king out and beat him to death in front of the enemy army" (don't recall who said that recently, but it was a featured article). Well, I saw such a brilliant sacrifice but failed to see an impending bishop f5 move that killed the plan cold dead.
I think the only cure for Little Kasparov Syndrome is study. But it burns me up every time it happens.
I think I'm going to refrain next time I hear that little voice in my ear. The little voice has always been right.
