I know!!!Like there was this one dude who I was about to checkmate in one move, then he just let his remaining 5 min. run and then move when he had like 2 seconds left. Like I had to wait 5 min. just for him to move and then me to checkmate him.

I went on his webpage and he had like the worst comments about him.
how do you disconnect? is it like unplug the moderm or router?
All you need to do is click the x for close in the top corner of your game window, or shut down the whole browser window. But dont do it!
I think these people just get angry and upset, just like my children when they don't win a game or race
There is nothing wrong with resigning and congratulating a player on a better game

People's behavior on Chess Live is indicative of their behavior off-line.You can pretty much bet that is someone is a jerk online...they are one off-line as well.However,care should be taken when labeling people who simply don't respond to a greeting or give one, or commit some other percieved faux-pas,we can't read their minds so we don't really know what they are really thinking,it's possible that no-ill will was intended,or something is going on that we aren't privy to.

Not everybody who doesn't respond in the comment box is doing so because they are a jerk. I've ran into a lot of abusive players who start the conversation out seemingly normal with "hi, how are you" and then purposely either move the conversation to very abusive territory or say very disgusting things to try and, I guess throw me off my game or get their own jollies. For that reason, I don't really respond to anybody anymore when they try to talk to me in the comment box. Often I will turn comments off before the game, but sometimes I forget. It's not because I want to be rude, I would be happy to talk to people if I hadn't run into the fact that 80% of those I responded to were very abusive.

Yeah I guess you're right. I've just been too lazy to set it, lol.
Just reply with a huge burn, beat him and then disconnect. Works every time!
When someone is really abusive in a game's chat, esp. during 10 min, I make sure I beat them and then say "trolololol at the end. If you do that, don't stick around for the reaction comment. It's usually not pretty. I made that mistake a couple of times. :P
Nothing makes me more happy than beating one of these offenders!!! and @thelonerangers no, you don't have to say good game. For that matter you don't have to buy your mother flowers on mother's day either(but if you don't every one will think you are a jerk!)

i just had another one where the guy thought he had mate in 1 on me but didnt' realize he was in check and went on and on about how i should resign cuz im a loser and a patzer! then im like... "you're in check" and he's like... oh.... sure enough i beat him and then he called me a patzer and left!!

Ever beat someone in a 2/1 bullet game and have them say something rude then disconnect? Or be ahead in material after 1min of play and they disconnect? Then you get curious and go have a look on their home page and every comment is like "disconnects when losing" or "what a loser who lets the time run out". Even people that have the common courtesy so say GG after a game, whether they win or lose, are becoming harder and harder to find. Etiquette is something that should be taught on chess.com it should be first on the list before tactics trainer and chess mentor!!
