LIve chess: time for first move (especially 960)

A long long time ago, I had an impression that a first move in a live game had to be made within a few seconds or the server aborted the game.

Whether or not I was mistaken, the first move in a 960 game takes considerable thought. (Unless you've memorised your first move for all possible layouts!).

Thus my question: can I take a minute or two (obviously not in blitz!) to decide on a first move in Live 960? If not, I'll leave it be. If I can take my time, I'll plan to drop a note in chat to my opponent that I am present and thinking and may give Live 960 a try.

Thanks.

I think Live 960 has the same first move requirement as normal Live. I know that people have posted in the feedback forum requests to increase or remove that time in that format.

Thanks Martin. That's a real hassle. I did search the forums and help, but didn't find those requests. I'll submit a suggestion, I think.
