Long distance chess?

My brother and I decided to play a long distance game (he's in Houston and I'm in Atlanta). I want to able to save our game and then open the game later to resume play and have it exactly where we left off. Can this be done?

Try joining a correspondence chess site.  You can set the time between moves for weeks, then not claim victory if it goes too long.  Send me a message if you want to know the site I am thinking about.

I've made this more complicated than it is. My brother and I exchange moves by texting. What I want to do is enter all our moves and save them and then reopening them to continue the game. It's only a matter of saving a file and then opening it up again to add to it, a basic word processor function. I tried this with Analysis but it doesn't same games.

As I said there is a chess site that is for this kind of game.

Unless of course you don't want to play on a board and live notation.

I always play on a board. I have a board, my brother has a board, he makes a move and texts me his move and I make my move and then I enter all the moves on a chess board on Chess.com so I can open that game up again and continue the game. Can't do that here?

The site has an actual board you make moves on.  It is an electronic correspondence chess site.  People who play there often play on boards as well.
