Look at what Coach David thinks is best - aka "Weird Coach"?

Image #1: instead of defending a hanging pawn with my rook he tells me to attack a bishop that's being protected by a queen is best ... or maybe he thinks leaving my pawn hanging but pinning his queen is best?
Image #2: instead of preparing a rook attack with my knight on g5 the next move, he tells me to do xf7 and suffer insta-death by black's king is best ...

I fail to see the logic of these 2 "best moves", maybe someone could elaborate?

Thanks.

You could always click on show moves to see the line the engine is looking at.

On the first move, that pawn isn't going anywhere and adding another attacker to the bishop is good. The bishop also doesn't have many good squares.

On the second move you get two pawns for the knight and get the black king out in the open after 23. ... Kxf7 24. Rxd6+. That's with a quick calculation and likely a very good continuation on any reply to the check.

it's being attacked by a queen when you attack with the rook that is free unless he moves it
