Looking for a (Female) Mixed-Doubles Partner for World Open

Giving women money solely for being women... Sure, gender 'balance'... Riiiiiight. Affirmative action is such a joke.

It would be hysterical if there were prizes at a chess tournament only available to men... Wouldn't people find that problematic?

I still find it interesting that there are "women only tournaments" but there are not any "men only tournaments."
I also find it interesting that the qualifications to be a WGM (woman grandmaster) or a WM (woman master) are different (and easier to obtain) than that for a GM or an Master. I thought chess was supposed to be the one activity/sport/pastime/game where women and men could compete on equal footing?
Kudos to Judith Polgar who refused to enter women only tournaments.

What difference does it make if there are WGM or WIM titles? They have nothing to do with men and existed from 1950-1 in order to make chess inclusive since at that time no woman would have qualified for any title. I agree the titles are dinosaurs, but they're only offensive to those choose to be offended. The only titles that should matter to men are overall title where everyone is equally compared.
Women tournaments are something different. As far as it goes, they make no difference. You can have men-only tournaments, or under-6 ft tall only tournaments. I don't see why specific tournaments should bother anyone... except for the fact that they funnel limited money and resources toward specific groups. I can see that as a tripping point. But there may be another side to that coin too. Sponsors will sponsor, first, what they want to sponsor and second, what gives them the most bang for their buck. It's also possible that organizations may fear that eliminating women's tournaments might undo the really great strides in chess incusiveness and the overall advance in the general skill level in women over the past 2 or 3 decades. I don't think it's all so cut & dry
Yeah, it's a great way for females to pick up some extra money in the tournaments, especially considering that so few players pair up and compete for the prize. Also, you make a good point: I'll probably never talk to this person again, once our names are on the registration form.
Well Milliern I think you should of given more thought when proposing this idea. Maybe you could of changed your avatar to like a Brad Pit picture or George clooney one. You know some False advertisement to lure them in.
I'm a guy and all I can say is your smile in your avatar is rather scary. You have a sinister looking Grin. Than to top it off you put a topic title with the word Female in parenthesis.
You might as well said "Your looking for a Female to procreate with for chess doubles to keep the species alive." That is all they see in your post. You done scared them away Milliern.
Even if you didn't want to do False Advertising. You could of at least changed your avatar to like a little rabbit or little puppy.
That way when they looked at your avatar they would be like Oh that milliern must be a very kind and gentle person. Such a cute little puppy. Little fluffy rabbit.
Than they would of had the image of Milliern = Soft, gentle, and cute.
Than you would of had a shot, but no Milliern what did you do. You put a creepy looking grin with the word Female in Parenthesis.
The image they see is a sinister caveman in search for a female.
Maybe you should save my tips for next years mixed Doubles.
I'm just saying. I might be wrong. However, I think the approach could of been maybe a little better.
