looking for an app that shows covered squares

I wonder if there is an app that could help me. I am on the edge of understanding a concept. Squares instead of pieces. For some of you an obvious thing I suppose.

If I evaluate a position I look at the pieces. Who has more? And I evaluate the pawn structure and attacks. And sometimes I see tactics.

The concept I am trying to grasp is to look at squares. Some of them are white’s, some of them are black’s and some squares are neutral.

It would be fun to have an app that analyses a game showing the occupied squares in colors. Anyone?

And - a fool can ask as much as he wants - what would be the correlation between the number of covered squares and the normal engine evaluation?
