especially for the lowest player- at least in the beginning
it is usually recommended to play longer time controls against stronger players and a chess club will meet these requirements
the fact that clubs play with real boards and pieces only help
chess clubs should also have some teachers to give lessons- these help too- and also get you in good standing with the club
Hey,
I am pretty new to chess and would love to get better at the game. The only thing is im not a great learner from reading and learn a lot more from someone showing me things or just playing through things. Im basically looking for a player who is better than me who would be willing to play some fun games and tell me what to work on.
There is also a local chess club in my area. Just wondering if chess clubs are ok to go to as a beginner or will I just annoy them?
