In horse racing if you win often enough you are handicapped with extra weight by a handicapper to even out future contests. Therefore I like live chess because you are rewarded /penalised according to form. As I understand it (Not having played tournaments) a draw appears to have less value if you are a huge "underdog" and happen to get up and draw...........

Can't think of too many sports (assuming chess is considered a sport) where you "lose" points for a draw...........

Makes sense that if you are higher rated you should be penalised for drawing against a lower ranked player but can anyone think of other sports similar to above ??
