Losing streak

How do you deal with it? I dropped 50 points and lost to a 1300 rated player. I feel like an idiot.

I just keep on playing even though I'm demoralized and my ego is crushed.

I will drop sometimes 100 points in a day, the opponents get harder and harder as the ratings go down. Its usually after I really just rip a few players apart and I feel conspiratorial, like when I feel like I'm playing bots--only these guys are obviously human (unlike those bots! I swear they exist!)--so I wonder if someone gets pissed off and reports you for being too cool for them do you go to like a parralele rating match system with feloow good players who have also been 'reported' for actually being smart.

I dropped rating points over this last week because my cat is unwell & if she don't go poo soon will have to be put to sleep. She got hit by a car & has a fractured pelvis. sad.png This world & life sucks

The best thing to do with a losing streak is not worry about it. And I personally find that easiest accomplished by walking away from the chessboard (or closing the tabs etc) and doing something else. Read a book (unrelated to chess preferably), play a game, watch a cat video, or some other perhaps even better ideas. Once you have a better state of mind feel free to return to chess and chess activities =)
