do you become depressed after having a losing streak? or is it just me?

NewArdweaden

When you are having a losing streak it's better to stop; this way you'll make less damage to your self-esteem and psychological condition.

but you know that feeling where you want to win even once before stopping for a while. that gets me all the time. sucks.

NewArdweaden

Yeah, I play bullet. I indeed know the feeling. But its is better to cut it nevertheless.

i know "depression" is not the right word for it. but you get my point. it's more of an "upset" kind of feeling.

I go on periods of winning streaks and losing streaks. It usually isn't inbetween. There is an ah-hah moment.. or enough of this.. It isn't healthy though and it is coerced with frustration.

The best thing to do is step away and realize the game is playing you, you're not playing the game.. and do something healthy.

You're probably getting frustrated and underdeveloping your ambition on the moves.

very interesting....actually the best way to deal with this is stopping playing chess online for a while and studying the book lines and going back to basics. You have to remember that just because one person won a particular game, it dosen't mean that that person can play you the same way if they played you on a chess line that you know very well. remember that every pawn has a destiny to become a queen. just think about it, you have the possibility of making as many queens as you like, so protect them. sac pieces if it gives you a positional and secret advantage, don't always accept a piece unless you have to....it's these kinds of things you have to remember. And also, a losing streak cannot last forever. You gonna win at least one game if you put your heart into it, and that's a fact. There's nothing to be depressed about, you have to conquer yourself before you can conquer your opponents king!
