Same thing happened to me. I was playing blind simul with Naka, Lev, Carlsen, and Caruana. Then my connection got lost and I lost like 20 points!!! I've never lost that much! And of course I got the stupid chess.com warning! insult to injury...So I talked to my lawyer, Jackie Chiles, and he says I have a case!
He said:
"Yeah that's going to be a problem. It's gonna be a problem for them. This a clear violation of your rights as a consumer. It's an infringement on your constitutional rights. It's outrageous, egregious, preposterous. "
RonaldJosephCote values as desirable on chess.com, since they pay!
Thanks SS I resemble that remark! 😍😍😍😍😍
BTW-you were a cheap date

I was thoroughly enjoying your comments my precious........
Watching 3 stooges movies probably.
Check out ICC (Internet Chess Club) The pros and serious players play chess there. Also you won't get cheaters because they're not going to pay for ICC membership just to cheat.
I know in the past I've been vocal about non-paying members, but I was new to this whole forum thing. I've sinced mellowed in my old age. It is what it is. Many members were here long before I was. I'm in a unique situation. I'm surrounded by 5 colleges. On any given weekend, I can go make $100. in empty cans. I know that doesn't help the OP, but I wanna become friends with Gomer Pile. I'm sure he's forgotten more about computers than I could ever learn. I would also like to say to mbpuk; post 38; "my time is valuable". No it isn't; that's just an allusion!
i was in the middle of a chess game and i was winning. then i got message 'connection disconnected'. though i was able to access other websites and there was no problem with the connection. when i tried to refresh the page just got the message 'site is not available.' then tried opening in another browser. finally the site opened but i couldn't get back to my game. it showed that i had lost the game and my rating dropped by about a 100 points. totally lousy website and poor poor application. and a technical support manager who is a completely rubbish guy. i know that this thread will be deleted as per their policy of 'cover your ***'. shameless people!
Hey! I'm really sorry you had such a bad experience on chess.com. If possible, I'd like to help resolve this issue so that you can go ahead and play games in as much peace as possible.
Is there any chance I could get you to try the suggestions found at this link? http://support.chess.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/167/0/my-internet-connection-is-fine---why-am-i-getting-disconnects
Nice to hear from you RJC
Chess haas always attracted the erudite and the philosopher.
However, please enlarge: "Time is an illusion"? or is it MY time, that you submit, is an illusion?
Perhaps we should enquire of Einstien
Suing seems to be a national sport in the US. I remember that lady who got a million dollars from a company some 20 years ago. She wanted to dry up her little dog in a microwave oven.
To mbpuk; In post 38, you said "the glitch wasted a lot of my valuable time". A lot of people think THE'RE time is valuable. It isn't; its a passing ILLUTION created by everyone's ego. Time is also a constant. It doesn't change, but your perception of it does. We are all given a measured amount of time on this planet, and then we die. Your implying YOUR time is worth more, based upon your profession. Let's say lawyer A is 40 yrs old; lawyer B is 20 yrs old. Can lawyer A charge more because he's 20 yrs closer to death than lawyer B ? or fireman A, who's 60 yrs old, is worth more than Architech B, who is 20 yrs old. Its ALL RELATIVE. But I wish you a long and prosperous life, and I hope you get the glitch solved.
well its hours of my time which has got wasted so remember time is money and i can in fact sue them for those lost hours.
OK, this is a serious candidate for stupidest comment I've seen on any thread on chess.com.
There are so many trolls on here, I find it hard to tell who is genuine any more...
Far too many.
A: ICC (from hearsay, a pay to use site)
Well, it happened to me, too. I felt very bad for the opponent, who gaciously resigned.
I am glad to see it is not just me! I know I have crappy internet, and get disconnected sometimes. Usually I can reconnect. But lately, I get DC'd from Live Chess, and yet my internet is still alive, and all other windows (Facebook, etc) are fully operational. Why, you ask, do I have other windows open? Because if I do not I will CERTAINLY be disconnected!
