OP is still here playing a year later and blitz rating is sub 400.
I was in Scotland last fall. Approximately six months after this OP was written. If the wind blew just right you could smell something rotten in Denmark.

Is sandbagging cheating? By the rules here? If so surely there are legions of that going on.
As individuals we must understand consistent good play will naturally climb you out of the gutter. Also consider the ratings here are only somewhat accurate and how important depends on your own, uh, whatever.
If you can give a 2250 a good run irl that is what matters. Establish a real life rating and go from there. This is only quasi real life and there is only so much the site can do.
