I'm sorry but this is the only site, where low level, like 800-900 are the hardest to play. I just can't understand how they keep their low level and play like pros, like no blunders nothing, this is the third time I'm closing my accoutn, cause this is unbrearable, chess.com must be the worst site ever

I agree.

Yes itโ€™s a complete mystery how these players manage to play like Grandmasters ! ๐Ÿ™€โ€ฆ..something very fishy about it if you ask me ! ๐Ÿ™€

Why do people like you get mad cause you canโ€™t beat 800โ€™s. If their not making blunders, that just means your making so many of them that all they have to do is capture your pieces.

Yes if you make blunders, itโ€™s certainly not gonna help you win games ! ๐Ÿ™€

I think the difference is that most chess sites start everyone at 1500, and chess.com has options, and most people go for 800.

Remember that whenih sign up you select a skill level and depending on Wich one you choose that's the rating range you start at even if you really are extremely goodโœŒ๏ธ. Mystery solved

You are most likely running into one of three scenarios. First, high rated players starting near that level. Second, lots of cheaters at that level. Then third legit players at that level. Two out of three times the game is going to suck. Best to go to another chess site.

I have seen cheaters be banned in one game. there are not as many as people think, in several hundred games I have run into two. High rated players stay at 800-900 maybe four games. I think 800's just are not as weak as they thought.

Fourth, what he says makes no sense. Go and have a look at those pro games.

What he says makes perfect sense, Pulpofeira.

The play at that level is ridiculous here compared to other chess sites. Itโ€™s not fun when someone mixes human moves with engine moves. Itโ€™s not fun when high ranked titled players speedrun lower ranked players. I absolutely get the frustration.

The ranking here is pretty meaningless. Best to play OTB and get a legit ranking.

I've checked several of his last games and if the people who have beaten him are titled players speedrunning, I'm Queen Elizabeth.

Avatar of bdub76
You donโ€™t need to be a GM. Anyone starting out with a higher actual rating is going to crush an 800. They donโ€™t have to be titled. The frustration is real. Donโ€™t disregard the OP.

I've checked several games, and those are all beginners. What you say can obviously happen, but can't be so common. And why should it be more common on this site compared to others?

This site has the best cheating detection Iโ€™ve seen. I reported someone mid game (a 600 who was somehow beating me), and he got banned as soon as the game ended.

whoops, now it's 2025 and lichess is also garbage because of "i'm losing, here comes the engine"! whee

I can't beat 800 players on blitz. Impossible. But it's also the pool with extremely many cheaters. So just don't play blitz.

Consider that people can struggle from having high concentration/non concentration issues resulting into 50% losses, 50% wins and 0 - close to 100% accuracy. So on a good day there's amazing win streaks and days loosing 200 elo. Just try to imagine what that is like. Never being able to achieve consistency. Going up and down constantly. Have a little compassion. I know it's frustrating to deal with but imagine being stuck in inconsistent progress. That's a real frustration and probably worse than any individual losses to a lower rated player.
