I'm guessing you used an engine on the other side, too.
Machine VS Man.

Run an Analysis of the matches, you'll see one was Engine one was Human :)
Then why is your rating 1147? I am willing to say you are stronger than that, but if you are going to bolster a challenge at least show a higher rating.
If I am As Good as The PGNs make me out to be (Beating Houdini)
I'll let you in on two secrets.
1. Houdini had its Performance Book Disabled So It Could Not Look Up Opening Moves It Had To Logically Calculate How To Beat Me Based Upon The Position, You Get The General Idea I made Houdini lose about 40 ELO Points but still beat it.
2. As to your Why not a higher ELO? - Easy, I play around - I do not play Chess as a serious sport it is almost as simple as Checkers if you look at the Big Picture and do not get hung up on little details.
Point is, I had fun, I am not here to prove anything just wondering, does anyone here prefer E4 or D4 and why? - Thanks!

Game Details:
Me Vs Houdini1.5a (Free) (CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.60GHz Hyperthreaded) (RAM: 2.24GB System RAM, 128MB RAM Used.)
(Ponder Next Move: Off)
(Analysis Contempt: 1)
Book: Disabled.
BookRandom: Disabled.
Resign: Disabled.
Tactics that I used to beat the Machine? Houdini 1.5a? - Easy.
Remove The Computers Material Since It Can See Way More Moves Ahead Then Me. That'll help Me Equalize Then Eventually get a passed pawn and turn them into a Knight And Queen and Checkmate Houdini, it took me 104 moves first game and then 108 in the second game. - Still won however.
I lost about 10 times to Houdini trying to get 2 wins Ha!
Least we can say Man finally has the crown back from the Machine eh?
Who Needs All-Powerful Calculators That Number Crunch Billions Upon Billions Persecond. Oh wait this is just an Old Pentium 4 Not a Core i7. Bahaha. Let me know what you guys think!
Cheers!

The mid 2000s called, they want their computers back. All joking aside, this doesn't mean man has taken the crown back from machines so to say. Hydra (a supercomputer from 2005) has completely trounced a super GM back in the day, and today Nakamura only defeated Rybka because he exploited its refusal to draw (he closed the position and made it blunder to avoid the 50 move rule). He's a phenominal player and arguably the greatest American player of all time. Even then he probably has a minus score overall against modern computers.
Until a super GM defeats a quality engine powered by a supercomputer we can't honestly say that man dethroned machines yet.

If your post was all about telling me how wrong I was not to look at the details because details can pull the win then you have mis-under-stood me. Do not worry, I was simply saying Do not worry about Minor Details If You Have Already Won That Is What I meant. The Only Reason I Posted Up These Two Games Against Houdini was because My Grandad Died A Few Weeks Back I came home and saw him dead, I started CPR, My Friends rang the Ambulance - His time was over. Jesus Took Him Away. He Is At Peace Now. Out Of Rememberance Of His Name I thought I'd post Two Games Of Me Beating Houdini just to show him how much I loved him! Playing Against Houdini was easily the hardest Chess Game Of My Life!

You are right. Unless Houdini Is Running Full Strength On A Core i7 With Huge Amounts Of RAM, And A Human Beats Houdini Then With The Opening Book Turned On, Then and Only Then Will Man Get The Crown Back From The Machine! - I just wanted to know I could beat Houdini a fair fight. I am no Great man, I can not trump an Engine that can See Into The Future and Use My Own Tactics against me and Win Every-time. But I can Love and try have fun having a game of chess against a Calculator that is always two steps ahead of me. Houdini is a great Engine - I have not seen anyone on the board nor on the Internet beat it. All I was saying is that, with 128MB RAM and 1 Intel Pentium 4 2.6GHz Running Houdini1.5a I beat it! - It was fun! :) - Thanks! Maybe Man One Day Will Get The Crown Back From The Machines, It Does However Seem Very Unlikely!

In the event you're already winning minor details are still important:
That's too bad about your Granddad though. I'm sure he'd be proud. There's no shame in not knowing certain things, as even Kasparov said the fact that there's still much he needs to learn keeps him awake at night.

RisingGrounds and sloughterchess and MarkaMark's nephew...
"We are...the Three Amigos!"
Yeah, he may be disappointed to know he's not the first person to post games claiming to beat an engine. Also not the first person to say "my rating isn't high because I don't take it seriously"
Machine VS Man.
