I just read the following: "World Champion Magnus Carlsen buys a house and makes it in the Norwegian newspapers. The price was 2.2 Million Euros, $2 millions US or even 19.5 million Norwegian Kroner. A house bought with the proceeds of the App "Play Magnus"
And I think it would be interesting to know why people are not fighting against this, as much as they are fighting against the millionaire tournament. The guy is a world champion, but makes money only for himself (nothing wrong with that) but in the end is not contributing to spreading chess (apart in a very small country in the world). Meanwhile he talks badly of Caruana, who switches federation, because likely he is afraid of being dethroned. But Caruana could spread chess to a wider market (US, with 300 million people, compared to Norway, maybe 10 million?)
Here the pic of the new house (Sorry but in US he could have bought something better for that amount of money)
