Making plans in quite positions

Hi all,

I find it still very difficult to come up with a plan in the beginning of the middlegame in quite (and often) boring positions. I find it much easier when there are evident advantages or disadvantage (positions, materiel, bishop pairs (or not), closed positions etc...).

But sometimes i and up with positions with no apparent (in my eyes)

I give you an example that i played recently where i kind of developped with no good reason to this position and from there on didn't really know what to do...
Could you give some tips or advice?

What is a “quite” position?
I know what a quiet 🤫 position is.
