I just plated against a 760 or so rated opponent who was playing a bit too well for my liking. Turned out they were 1300 plus max rating, it just proves my point!

That guy was 1349 once right after his first game in February 2019

My friend, cc is not as bad as you think.

I have problems with the site, too, but they do make attempts in their own way to fix them.

But they will never do all you want for whatever reasons.

As fo mismatching, I do not think that happens very often. It happens little or not at all to me,

Sandbagging IS indeed a problem, and they should do more if they can, But it is hard to locate for various reasons.

All the best, anyhow, whether or not you have much time for what I have said,

Just fight against a high elo or a player that twice your elo ranking and you must think "I can win this" you need to be confident...but if you are not confident and always thinking you are going to lose and you will make a lot of blunders and miss even if you lose you can analyze the game and learn from your mistake...same like the GM Gukesh from India..He Magnus Carlsen that got 20 world champion title and Gukesh lose many times and he learn from his mistake and beat Magnus...if you are in tournament(like national or international)you will face opponents with higher elo than you

Oh, but of course the 1800 rated player sees everything as simple and obvious! This is typical of what I’m talking about…
As for Abirdwithinternetyt, I appreciate what you are saying, finally someone actually wants to acknowledge what I’ve said. The problem with forums in general, is that most of the time, the wrong people just want to pile in, because it suits their agenda!

Like I said before, unless you actually want to acknowledge the wider problem, then please don’t comment, I’m not interested in hearing excuses for why this is happening, I want to hear about solutions.
Coming here to just disparage my claims, is just another form of bullying and I will be reporting this going forward…

In one game the opponent castled queenside. That puts their rook on the open D file. You had a undefended knight on said D file and didn't move or defend it. Your opponent took it and you went on to lose. I saw a couple games where opponent made a move threatening to pin your queen to your king. You did nothing about it and lost your queen on the next move. These are not things that require an 1800 rating to see. These are not threats that a sub 1000 rated player is incapable of coming up with. Do sandbaggers exist? Yes. Is the reason you're stuck below 1000 rating due to losing to tons of sandbaggers? No. If you're unhappy about your level of play then do something about it. Chess is very hard and requires study and practice to improve. I was 800 rated once too btw.

Thanks for the positivity from the handful of people who have contributed. As for everyone else, your opinion is of no concern to me…

OP: See no. 56, it seems my comment is now “buried” under others.

I've just read the title and i want to say some things also about the actual page. I've not been here long, but i know some things hace changed, at least for me. And IDK how, but it's bothering me. First: I simply cannot check my games anymore. I just can ser the free full review, and that's it for the day. It just dont let me see my other games. I dont care about the full review. Seconds: In the full review itself, the quality has dropped down. At first I had the full explanation of why, where and how to fix it. Now I dont even know what I did wrong. Third, and this is the most anoying: I mostly play on phone. That means I have a big, nice button to go to the menu. Well, before, when that happened i had another button for "return to the game". Now It doesn't exist and I've lost games for It. I dont know if all of that happens to all of you, but it's bothering me. Also, how to fix the analisis? Each time I open It, my Google crashes, and I dont know how to fix it.

73 If you click off of a game, you can still view it from your profile -> games

I, also, I'm 700, but, and althought I make mistakes, I usually see them. Sometimes my opponent too. I usually dont make blunders. I started at 400, and I'm getting better by the day. Just see your mistakes and try to fix them. Just that will help you get better. It worked for me. When I was arround 435 ELO, I entered a tournament. I didn't win, but i won a 1500 ELO with a 2000 level game. Just, dont giving up IS the way to succeed. I'm not comfirming nor disagreeing with anyone. Just saying that those things happens, can go well, or can go horrible bad. Is life.

Well SAID, Rodrigo.

Our national hero, of sorts, Ned Kelly, made similar remarks as the hangman put the noose around his neck.

His exact words were "Such is life".

I hope he saved his poor soul.

Avatar of Rodrigocool001

And yes, the sandbagging happened somehow to me. Just try not to care. Like if you were matched against Carlsen or something. If u can learn from it, take the full hit and bit by bit learn how to neutralize It. ELO is infinite. You can always get more. Experience is a bit harder though. So ignore the bad parts (trust me, is hard, even for me), and get only the good ones.

I’m sick of 2 things that chess.com doesn’t seem to want to combat. I know that this will be hidden away because it’s inconvenient to have it brought to light!
1 is the amount of sandbaggers who are making it impossible to progress at the moment. I just lost a game against a player who is actually literally double my ELO!
Secondly, the same player was a misogynistic troll, I reported them for sexual harassment and trolling as well as sandbagging.
I honestly don’t expect anything to get done about any of these things, because as I said, it is inconvenient for chess.com or the mods to actually stand up and do the right thing.
I honestly don’t care what happens to me at this point, this is ruining chess for me!
There are so many toxic players on here, I’m afraid of what they might be capable of if they’re allowed to carry on unchallenged.
Chess.com, please clean this site up!!!
I’m happy to discuss this if someone actually wants to hear what I have to say.
If not, I’m sure there would be plenty of media outlets which would love to hear what a toxic wasteland it has become here lately…

I could tell by your first sentence where this was going... that you were just yet another entitled, modern professional victim looking for a pedestal to stand on, in order to bolster your broken ego (it would be easier to just admit you suck at chess). But seriously, if you're going to engage in activist posturing bullshït such as this, at least pick a better cause.

This is quite a long thread, and has provoked quite a stir.

btw, https://oslmusic.org/happy-unbirthday-j-s-bach/ for ANYONE interested, and it is also the equinox.

Yay!

U could say that last part is another way, unless you want to be banned. I know there wont be in here, but there are still kids playing chess here. And trust me, they are smart.

Avatar of crazedrat1000

Here's another important life lesson, kids - never play nice with people who only want to use the pretense of "kindness" to manipulate you and others. That's not game theoretically sound, you lose tit-for-tat that way.

Because remember, those very same people began the thread by calling for retribution and threatening others to justify their losses to themselves - these are not "kind" people, the supposed kindness is a sociopathic lie.

This thread is just such a perfect example of the mentality that some insulated, overgrown toddlers living in modern society have. When they fail at something, first reaction is actually to blame anyone who may have beaten them at it, try to sabotage them, construct this massive narrative in their heads to justify some retribution... never just putting in the effort to improve, or simply admitting they suck and finding something better to do. I swear we really need to round these people up and cane them in the town square the way that was done medieval times. Or put them in those wooden contraptions that close around the hands, and then you pull their pants down and have them shït themselves for days in the town square for everyone to see. That's how we used to deal with these people. And it worked.

Avatar of Rodrigocool001

I mean, i get It. But i also think that is go a little too far. Just put them a limit. If they go past the limit, they recieve a punishment accordingly to how much they went off. You dont need a severe punishment for something small. That can be influenced because i'm 16 though.

Avatar of crazedrat1000

It's actually a nationwide problem here... it's quite widespread and severe. We are to the point we need public caning, but it'll never happen so don't let it bother you too much. Life does provide the caning instead though. I'm 39, I've seen that. You would actually rather be caned by someone than caned by life, believe me. Caning can be a positive good but it takes adult wisdom to know that.

I could respond differently if he had produced a shred of evidence that he was being cheated. But he can't, because he has none... so when people asked him for it, he ignored them and got more offended / tried to shame people in response.
There's no reason whatsoever to take him seriously, and very little reason to show him any respect.

I don't know if there's "massive, systemic, problems on chess dot com", but I know the plumbing gets backed up in the men's room sometimes. happy
