Has anyone here ever played Media Divisions FlashChess free online chess program? If so, what would the rating be if it were a real live player? It has two AI settings (shallow & deep).
I am not new to chess but have never read any chess books or attended any tournaments and have been a casual player for the last 15 years. Recently I have decided to try to become a better player and decided to invest in some chess books that I found to be common upon alot of chess players 'must read' lists.
After playing FlashChess online approximately 100 times on the deep mode I have realized that I average a win in about 2 out of 5 games against it. On shallow mode I can win 3 or even 4 out of 5. I'm certain that it's probably an easy program to defeat for some here, but for me, who has been nothing more than a casual player for half my life, it has been a formidable opponent.
If I could get an idea of a rating for it from someone here it may help me to guage where I am as a player at the moment.
