Meditation and Chess

"meditate his moves" what does that even mean
I'd like to know that too...
please Nolaupt...cough up a coherent answer for a change!!

I think he means that his friend focuses on a chess piece with his brain and then the piece moves, a la Matilda

Your friend is telling you that he calms himself down, focuses on nothing but the move, and that allows him to become a good chess player.
So, in essence, he is 'meditating' his moves.

...the "Josh Waitzkin" way??...."be in the moment"?,"feel the tension of the position"?..."embrace the tension of the position"?... that sorta stuff?

Too right! Most of us are guilty of dashing off half considered moves that seemed like a good idea at the time, without properly thinking through the possibilities. I have done exactly that in the last 48 hours, and am now relying on a mistake from that opponent to have any chance of salvaging a draw.
Extra time taken to really let your mind get into the game has got to make you a better player, and to do that on every move will eradicate most, if not all of your mistakes.
Also, less time in forums and more time on the chess board might help!!

What is meditation
A conscious examination of either real or imagined objects or beings relative to the examinee
A state of mental preparation in which the figurative reality is examined on a biased scale of personal experiences and values
Self-awareness, exploration into possible or even impossible scenarios and the rational outcomes to said scenarios
Someone told me that he meditate is moves and thats made Him a outstanding player. Do you thinks its true
